Related: About this forumShannon Sharpe blasts Bill Belichick for refusing postgame interview
Bill Belichick is known for his surly disposition on those rare occasions when the Patriots lose. A lot was made of the coach not shaking Tom Coughlin's hand after the 2007 Super Bowl when the undefeated Pats lost to the upstart Giants. And now, nearly five years later, Belichick has again finds himself the subject of criticism for refusing to do a postgame interview with CBS following Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
This development did not sit well with The NFL Today's Shannon Sharpe. There's something to be said about being gracious in defeat, Sharpe said. We've seen the New England Patriots five times in the last 12 years be victorious. And we've seen the opposing coaches that lost come out and talk to our Steve Tasker. Coach (Bill) Cowher did it when [the Steelers] lost to them. We saw this last week [when the Patriots beat the Texans]."

(44,576 posts)2. The NFL has a media relations policy
"Cooperation with the news media is essential to the continuing popularity and financial prosperity of our game and its players. This is an important part of your job, especially in these challenging times when everyone in the NFL must do more to promote our game. Violations of the policy may result in fines. Just as important, failure to adhere to the minimum requirements of the Media Relations Policy will cast you and your organization in a negative light"

It's always done. Not talking to the media is bush-league stuff.

When he wins he's up there smugly proclaiming what a genius he is while the Boston media fawns all over him. So frickin' glad they got beat again.

But Shannon Sharpe has no career anymore so he's making something out of not much so the haters can pile on...go at it.

whether a coach did a postgame interview.

He's proven over and over again he has no respect for others and that this sort of obnoxious petulant behavior won't change.
