It seems that the pitcher could have gotten someone out and THERE WAS ANOTHER GAME AFTER THE BUCKNER ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's kinda like blaming the '03 Cubs collapse on Bartmann. I still despise Alex (ole!) Gonzalez for waving at an easy grounder which would have gotten the Cubs out of the inning and most likely given them the W.
At least the redcocks fans have two WS victories since then. My Cubs have zero and may remain that way judging by the last three years. Anyway, stop blaming Billy Buck.

Both will/have gone to their graves with their World Series errors being the most remembered part of their lives.

But the Merkle Boner was so wild that it defies description. It has been described as "the most controversial game in baseball history." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merkle%27s_Boner
