(21,925 posts)since I lived in Oakland as a young man in 1969 and Charlie Finley was the owner. I once wrote him and he actually wrote me back a nice letter of appreciation for my fan support. They had great names on their roster during those times like Rick Monday, Reggie Jackson, Sal Bando, Joe Rudy, Campy Campaneris, Dick Green, Vida Blue, Catfish Hunter, and Rollie Fingers. Those were some great teams in that period. I've never been able to experience the excitement I felt over the A's in their dynasty years of the early 70s but I still like and follow them. I'm also a big Raiders fan and the same thing is true. I support them no matter what.

(31,173 posts)I think it'll be Oakland vs Boston for the A.L. Pennant. Cleveland isn't as deep as other teams and their record against winning clubs is abysmal. But ... no one picked the Giants in 2010 or 2012 either. So anything is possible.
