(16,113 posts)but in either case, the Pats would be foolish not to resign him. They won't get a better receiver than Welker, and there might not BE a better receiver who understands this offense. Branch and Ochocinco probably wouldn't start on any other NFL team. Branch was serviceable because he knows the offense, watching Ocho play in that offense was like watching a pitcher bat.
