The Diggs trade wasn't really a trade. The Bills fired him because ultimately the risk/reward ratio was untenable. (Original Post) Marcuse Apr 8 OP

I haven't seen anything indicating that they're choked to lose him as a teammate. To the contrary, there have been stories about Diggs not being all that team-oriented.

In addition, he's 30 years old now. Although he finished with almost 1,200 yards last season, a lot of receivers hit the wall around that age, or at least begin to fall off.

We'll see what he can do with C.J. Stroud's fresh arm airing it out instead of Josh Allen.

Crickets from the players. Historically the fan base has been ok with shipping productive star players (Willis McGahee, Marshawn Lynch) who didn’t fit for one reason or another. It’s a smaller working class city where there isn’t a whole lot for young millionaires to do without everybody knowing about it.

It would not surprise me if there's a mid-season trade to another team so Houston can get additional draft compensation and take the back end of Diggs' contract number off their cap. The other option is to agree to eat the contract number and force a higher draft pick from the team that trades for Diggs (read: KC Chiefs, which is the one team the Bills said they would not agree to trade Diggs).

I know Josh Allen was not happy the Bills front office traded away his favorite receiver, and they don't have the cap space to go trade for someone comparable (e.g. Tee Higgins).
