2. I'll initiate the process today

But i doubt the required license will be ready for my departure for Florida in 2 weeks.
After taking a 1 month spring break in Florida every year since 1965 nothing will get me to change winter destinations faster than to get a major ticket for not having an international license.

3. Ok, I have a bit of understanding for licenses from countries that do not speak English

and their licenses are printed in their own native language. But why Canada? Now I have only seen one Canadian license, but it was written in both English and French. I had no issue reading it.

i think i read by not having it its the equivalent of driving with no license at all ,so i'd imagine a ball park figure of $300.As probably only 1 in 10 Canadians have heard of this new requirement the law could reap quite the windfall as they eagerly pulli over every car with Canadian plates..

4 to 5 hour line ups at the CAA office here in Montreal to acquire this ridiculous piece of paper.
Maybe i'll just go spend my time and money in Myrtle beach instead.

Just got all my vacation money, two weeks spent in a great hotel,right on the beach and close to all amenities and a shorter drive by 10 hours.
Highly recommend North Myrtle Beach over Myrtle Beach proper.

Florida with its stupid international drivers license demand just lost a longtime customer

7. How ironic. In the state of headless drivers

who never shut off their turn signals. All you see are disembodied arms clutching the steering wheel because they're hunched down so far they can't see over the dashboard.

I've driven in most states in the union, and Florida is the one place where I've had the most near-collisions. Before requiring Canadians to get international driving permits, how about requiring FLORIDIANS to steer clear of buildings and swimming pools?
