Archbishop Nienstedt's testimony is made public

http://www.startribune.com/local/256193171.html
The sworn testimony of Archbishop John Nienstedt in a clergy sex abuse case was made public Tuesday morning by St. Paul attorney Jeff Anderson, who said he has turned over to police the deposition and many thousands of pages of church documents because the Catholic Church continues to tolerate and hide predatory priests.

The methods they have employed in the past are being employed in the present,” Anderson said during a news conference. “We’re alarmed, we’re sad and we’re scared.”

...

Anderson also showed a clip of Nienstedt acknowledging that he chose not to put “certain things” about alleged abuse in writing.

Anderson said such behavior was intentional and demonstrated an effort to keep information from authorities and attorneys such as him and Finnegan.

Power seeks to protect itself at all costs.

The problem is the tipping point after which there aren't enough people left to support it at all.

Rome might be getting there, and national churches will have to break with the Vatican in order to survive.
