3. Mary 'appears', then all hell breaks loose in Yugoslavia

A more rational interpretation is that the Ustasi, CIA and western intel, got together with the far-right Vatican money and power people, to atomize a former Eastern Bloc country that was relatively independant of the Soviets and had a competitive economy.

All those busloads of 'pilgrims' wittingly or unwittingly provided the cover for operatives whose efforts carved Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herz, etc. out of Yugoslavia.

Traditionally, when Mary appears, we get holy spring water, or scapulars, or letters. Something besides a bloody civil war.
