Maybe we take it out on religious people who are not this extreme, but we see things like this, and we realize that it has to be stopped. Getting more believers to see this as a threat that they should also be fighting is why we get frustrated.

This really should be posted in Religion, although I can appreciate why you didn't. Thanks for sharing it. Most insightful.

Let me see if I can gather up the nerve to do it. It really is important for believers to see as well. Ugh.

I went to religion and checked out your post, you are a brave person.

I actually consider Vykie Garrison as one of the victims and I'm glad she escaped. I know people call her names and say she is nuts but I think if the religious start brain washing you when you are young and vulnerable you will probably do what ever they tell you. We need more people like her to tell us what's going on.

Personally , I never did believe in god and most people don't know I'm an Atheist, it is something that just came to me naturally, but it sure scares the heck out of the religious for some reason when they find out that you don't believe in their god!

It was hard for me. And I might bow out of it if it gets ugly. I will not play that game when people hijack threads or attack. But it is there. As it should be.

I saw one brave and intelligent woman speaking in that video. What is "nuts" is what she had to live with. It must be very difficult for her to come out and expose it.

As to being atheist, yes, it is weird how people react to knowing that you are an atheist. I have been open about it for years, but it wasn't always that way. I am older now, and I don't much care these days. I understand why you don't yell it from the rooftops. Funny how people don't care if you say you are Baptist when they are Catholic, but OMG if you say atheist.

She is exposing what she was raised with. She is not longer living that life. What is nuts and irresponsible?

fails to see the impact of over passing the carrying capacity of the planet and destruction of its natural resources. They may find themselves with very little to rule over as they will be part of the destruction of that which they covet.

want to eliminate teaching critical thinking skills to children. All the better to indoctrinate them if they are unable to think for themselves. It is what makes some of these groups no better then a cult.

The ones who are "nuts" are the ones who did not see the flaws in their indoctrination and are still there. Give her credit for getting out and more credit for being willing to speak out about what is happening.

I will agree that the things she was taught are insane, but that should not be pinned on her.
