I see that "God is not Real" as a screen name is an offense now.

Apparently it's divisive or something. Can't religionists just say "yes he is" like they usually do and move on?

Several people who "aren't religious" were so worried that religious people might burst into flames or something if they read it they think it's a nuke-able offense.

Democracy certainly seems to be going underground here!

I suppose we atheists could go thru every screen name and complain about any user name that implies religion is more than a fairytale....
Nah.... who has the time to be so self righteous? I've got laundry to do!

Besides, we're supposed to sit down and shut up because we might hurt some delicate flower's fee-fees.

Ugh. Religionists are so incredibly thin skinned and worship such a weak deity.

It was being discussed.

Reminds me of our current NC legislature: governing by pet peeve. "Oooo. I don't think I like that. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!"

But I love the "I'm not religious" crusaders who didn't think it showed respect.

Remember! Religious people MUST be respected, but atheists' views, not so much.

is religious people's right to be religious. Doesn't mean I can't express my opinion of it. Or shouldn't.

Making fun of exorcism.

Yes., they hid my post because I called people who believe in exorcism stupid...

In 2016. On a 'progressive' board.

Let that sink in for a minute.

‘Scared’ clergy don’t have the rite stuff

I can't stop laughing and just spewed my coffee

The Catholic Church is having a hell of a time finding young exorcists, says a leading practitioner.

“I told the bishop that I can’t find anyone willing to do this,” Father Vincenzo Taraborelli told the BBC in a story posted Tuesday. “Many of them are scared. Even priests can be scared. It’s a difficult life.”

For those who believe in demonic possession and that priests have the power to expel the evil spirits, Taraborelli is considered one of the prominent successors to Father Gabriele Amorth, who died last month at age 91. Amorth was said to have performed more than 160,000 exorcisms.

Taraborelli, 79, sees up to 30 people a day in a windowless room near the Vatican, the BBC reported. His most vivid case, a married woman being wooed by a Satanist, sounds like it came right out of a movie.

“When I told the devil: ‘In the name of Jesus, I order you to go away’, she started to vomit little metal pins, five at a time,” he said. “Aside from pins she would also vomit hair braids, little stones, pieces of wood. It sounds like something from another world right? Instead, it’s something from this world.”

In Argentina, a non-accredited exorcism school offers an “exorcist assistant” diploma. But that may be of little help to Taraborelli.

“Exorcists need to be certified to eliminate the practice of exorcism by untrained novices,” Taraborelli told the Daily Beast previously. “Otherwise it can be very dangerous for the person who believes he is under the devil’s possession.”
