Question for Group

In light of the coming theocracy that may just be around the corner if the loser of the popular vote issues an EO legalizing religious discrimination in a broad range of circumstances.........

What 'religion' would you consider joining, i.e. Satanic Temple, UUA, Universal Life Church, etc. just in order to shield or take advantage of any order? Worthy or crazy thought? TIA

your question, but thanks ever so for introducing me to the Universal Life Church website. The Minister Store is way cool, although the "Ministry in a Box" seems a little overpriced.

Wikipedia
The Universal Life Church is a religious denomination that has no traditional doctrine, believing merely in "that which is right". It offers anyone ordination as a minister free of charge, primarily to those who marry couples.

Since its inception, the Universal Life Church has come into legal conflicts over such issues as the validity of ordinations and the tax-exempt status of the organization. However, the US military chaplain's hand book lists the ULC as one of the churches it recognizes.[9] The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has ruled in some years that the church was tax-exempt, but has not in other years, based on the annual filing statement required of non-profit organizations.[10] Most states recognize the church as a legal entity by extending recognition to its ministers.[11] A few states do not, and it is up to each minister to determine their legal standing in their home state. The ULC assists its ministers if they experience problems with being recognized in their home or country.

When they start loading the freight cars, I will fall back on my Catholic creds. I've never been technically excommunicated, and I still have my First Communion certificate.

Sounds okey dokey to me.

Fellow goes to a UU service for the first time, and later is asked what he thought of it. "Darndest church I ever went to," he replies, "the only time I heard the name of Jesus Christ was when the janitor fell down the stairs."
