But right about now, the good people of the city of Tacloban, Philippines are probably insanely happy to see the United States Marines. After all, the Marines are bringing relief to a horribly hit region, an area which desperately needs help after the super storm.
And I hope people in here are donating to a good relief agency, such as Doctors Without Borders. I did and it felt good knowing that I am helping some of my Philippine brothers and sisters.

1. If the military was used more for disaster relief and actual defensive purposes

and less for invading "uppity" countries or "advising" dictators on how to keep their populations docile, I'd feel more positive about it.

I actually like the military a lot, people shouldn't confuse the oprganization with its civilain leaders. The US Army was the first large scale organization to integrate and the first lareg scale organization to start accepting LBG
