I don't know how big your dog is. Mine are 26 and 18 pounds.

If the peanut butter trick fails, I get them in a headlock, put the pill in the back of the mouth, then hold the mouth closed until the critter swallows.

That worked when we had the 75-pound Samoyed too, but she would swallow anything including whole socks (without the human foot) so it doesn't really count.
