Rick Santorum's Cruel Conservatism

I was alerted to this piece by a FB Post from a Romney supporter who said, "

"I really like Rick Santorum.....much better than Newt Gingrich....The only reason I'm not supporting him is i don't think he can win a General Election....He turns off middle of the road Independents....These Independents, reviled by some, are the people that decide Elections....We shouldn't hate them, or be mad at them....We should try to persuade them that the conservative vision for America is the best way....We shouldn't manipulate them, we shouldnt attack them personally....We should just argue the point better."

So there you have it. The Independent Voters are just somehow misguided and can be argued into voting for Romney, but not Santorum.

"At a recent campaign stop in Colorado, a young boy asked Santorum what the candidate can do to make medicine more affordable, and he was also challenged by the a mother who was worried that parents in her child’s cancer ward can’t pay for life-saving treatment. Instead of taking a pause from scripted talking points, Santorum seemed annoyed and proceeded to lecture the family about the tough spot lucrative drug companies are in these days.

He argued that “free people going out there and competing against one another” will solve the problem and warned that patients who advocate for lower prices for medicine will ultimately “freeze innovation.” And adding insult to injury, he whined that people are willing to pay $900 for iPads but complain about paying $200 for pharmaceuticals. &quot If he knows any such people, he declined to name names.)

George W Bush. His integrity, his intelligence, his brilliant ideas, his ability to speak coherently, the list goes on.
