"The ad will begin running in Iowa and New Hampshire on Friday. I think this is one of the greatest political ads I have ever seen!

(25,253 posts)This says it all - we've all come to look for America.
Bernie will help us find it again.
Go Bernie!!!! Feel the Bern!!!!!

(5,614 posts)with Reagan's Morning in America video. Comment was also made that it was similar to some of Obama's videos. Probably because some of those people made this one.

(36,063 posts)the dreams, hopes, and fears (remember Long Hot Summer?, 68 democratic convention? Earth Day? Vietnam? etc) of the late 1960s
All the problems of that time, all the hopes for dealing with those problems, live today. That ad ties us old boomers and young people together in yet filled but still hoped for solutions.
But, because it's a great ad it will be a threat to other candidates and supporters. I'm not sure how they'll do it but I can't shake the feeling that they'll complain that it's somehow unfair.

(50,285 posts)Not so much the dreams, hopes and fears, but the simplicity of life as a kid in Vermont. The farm scenes made me remember afternoons in a horse barn brushing an old work horse named Nellie. Funny how that music and those images can be so powerful. I think it's the best campaign ad I've ever seen.

(1,052 posts)Almost as good as Rock from Gravel's 2008 run. (Which, admittedly, was never actually broadcast by the campaign.)

(486 posts)The citizens of Iowa are being deluged with TV ads now. They're seeing attack ads, and accusation ads, and boasting and bragging ads,... They are being inundated by literally everything we all hate about politics.
And sprinkled in between all that rancor, they'll see and hear the millions of hopeful Sanders supporters all over this country who are still looking for America.
It's absolutely breathtaking.
The Landslide begins in IOWA.

(29 posts)No hype, no lies, no attacks on any of the other candidates.
A gentle yet powerful song from the 60's sets the tone.
And, if you notice, the focus is on the people who would benefit the most from a Bernie Sanders presidency, not Bernie himself.
It confirms for me: Bernie Gets It.

And at :22 even the people are high fiving in time.
And the B3 in that tune.... :> )))

(23,664 posts)Although it may be partly because of the nostalgia of the song itself.
I do have a question: is this the ad that prompted all the fake outrage from Clinton supporters because it didn't have many African Americans in it?
