Incumbent Democratic Senator Kennedy debated Republican challenger Romney on the Massachusetts economy and other issues.

2. There have been examples on YouTube for months of Romney's lies in 1994

But they don't seem to have gotten a lot of attention.

In 1994 in the debates against Ted Kennedy, Romney said things like:

1. He was more pro-gay than Ted

2. He was pro-choice

3. He was an 'Independent' in the days of Reagan-Bush and didn't 'want to go back to those days' etc.

I think the Ron Paul campaign actually made a good compilation of all of Romney's lies from 1994 to the present that was still on YouTube last time I checked.

More voters need to hear these things.

Let the ridiculous right, particularly in the South, see the perfect Mitt Moments in this debate and some will jump ship. I remember watching this live and thinking that Willard was a moderate in the tradition of his dad.
Then, he decided being president might be fun and snuggled up to Rush Limbaugh's devotees.
Take a few snips of this debate and give Willard one more kick in the gut.
BTW, The Senior Senator ended up with 58 percent of the vote.

3. Wow! Well I'm 15 minutes in, and I have to say thus far, I think Romney is doing a goog job!

I know it's BS, but he's pretty convincing for those who don't realize that. He's got facts (twisted though they may be) and seems to be surprisingly prepared. I can't be objective because I know what a slime he is, and I'm of course a Kennedy admirer, but I guess I'm just surprised that Romney seems to be holding his own.

I think more people should see this so we know what to expect next month.

I find it kind of interesting that he expressed (probably faux) anger. I didn't watch much of the Republican debates, but what I did see I don't recall him showing got that side.

Nasty cut throat go for the jugular. I also went to you tube and saw him debating republicans 2012 and he wasn't as good. Still didn't answer questions but instead attacked and lied. I kinda like Ron Paul.. never paid to much attention to him but he seemed honorable.

I think he was a better debater back then than he is now, but he's still good.

It's definitely not going to be a cakewalk for Obama.

7. I was struck by the sameness of the issues then and now.

Healthcare reform - passed but still not resolved, still being debated.

Marriage equality, women's healthcare choices, on and on, still being debated after 18 years.

I plan to watch debate 2 later today.
