That was downright bizarre. That man is a war criminal who should be shunned by anyone who represents the USA. It makes me feel ill just to look at him.

was an ordeal. He is so simplistic. So extremely certain that he is right. I will never forget reading that book and arguing with the professor who was very upset with me. Punishment -- reading Kissinger's book.

It was about how the US and Russia are inevitably opposed to each other. There may be some truth to that, but the job of a diplomat in my view is to find common ground and a way to work with other countries even when the interests of the countries are naturally opposed or competitive.

I read it between 1961 and 1964.
