(8,462 posts)Would it be different?
95, 93, and 128 are how you enter NH. And if you live near the border you hate people driving into NH even if they live here....

(8,462 posts)When we head up north. Was wondering if it's the same deal.

(8,976 posts)explain that and then we might discuss it.

(8,462 posts)They get back at us by not paying at our toll booths on i90 and i94.
If you live or work and make the higher salaries available in Mass, then I am not happy to have you up here increasing congestion and raising prices because you find us quaint and fucking scenic. When on a summer weekend my local diner is stuffed with high end Audis and BMWS and my breakfast costs more and comes slower then you suck. Your mileage may vary...
Noted.

(28,749 posts)I come to your state, I spend my money there and help out your workers and business. It's just odd that people have a reaction like yours.

(8,976 posts)why when you come here we picture a dairy cow. That means we work to grab every dime from you. You pass through the southern part of the state where I live on your way to where you will lay out the big bucks up in the lakes region or the mountains. You might buy breakfast or gas here but your heading towards "attractions" where you pour out bucks. But where I live you just pack every road and do nothing for me but slow me down. And if I go down to Boston on a New Hampshire income what do you figure I can afford? You want a fair exchange-Drag your ass to NYC and see how you make out there economically...
The raw anger... Still.
I grocery shop in Nashua, I go to the mall in Nashua or Salem, I spend days off in Portsmouth or Hampton, in the fall we drive up to Keene to check out the leaves (use to do the pumpkin fest but then Keene state went crazy). I spend multiple mornings in the spring at Parkers Maple Barn in Mason, NH enjoying some amazing breakfast and maple sugaring. I shop at Lull farms in Hollis for some great fresh farm to table foods, and I often head up to Manchester to see concerts/events at the Verizon Wirless arena.
Yes I do head up to Sunapee or Gunstock to ski, and I do usually hit up the Cog Railway each summer... So I spend some time up north but a whole lot of my disposable income stays right in Hillsborough or Rockingham county.
Maybe I should reconsider that?

Bad Thoughts
(2,524 posts)Almost by definition, the NH Primary is conducted by many people from Massachusetts--the whole state is nearly overrun with "Massholes" in January and February. I helped Wes Clark's and, later, John Kerry's campaigns. Most of us were from Massachusetts. Indeed, on Primary Day, I was impressed with the number of firefighters who came from all over MA to knock on doors, hold signs, and make calls for Kerry.
Nothing new here.
