"Hillary Clinton Tries, FAILS to K.O. Bernie Sanders at NH Debate"

Hillary Clinton Tries, Fails to K.O. Bernie Sanders at New Hampshire Debate
The Daily Beast
2/5/16

Down by some 20 points in New Hampshire, the former secretary of state launched an all-out assault on her lone remaining Democratic rival. The results were less than she hoped for.

Hillary Clinton tried to force Bernie Sanders to make himself unelectable on Thursday night.

She failed.

Coming off what may prove to be a Pyrrhic victory in the Iowa caucuses and facing a potential double-digit drumming in next week’s New Hampshire primary, Clinton came out swinging.

Almost immediately, she characterized the Vermont senator as an unrealistic dreamer who is making promises that he cannot possibly keep. She argued that she was a sort of pragmatic progressive who might not paint a perfect picture of the future but would work hard to move the ball forward for Democratic causes.

And it all landed a little flat. It was more “Hope to Change” than “Hope and Change.” And after all the questions about her numerous Wall Street paydays as well as the continued controversy surrounding her State Department emails, one couldn’t help but think both issues will continue to haunt her.

...snip....

She then posited herself as an avowed enemy of the financial sector’s excesses. “I think the best evidence that the Wall Street people at least know where I stand and where I have always stood is because they are trying to beat me in this primary,” Clinton, the foremost recipient of Wall Street’s largesse this cycle, insisted.

Later, when asked by moderator Chuck Todd about whether she’d disclose the transcripts of her speeches to major banks, Clinton said she’d “look into it.”

on actual important issues respectfully, as Sanders does, you have to silence him ... or try to.

You can tell watching him how frustrated he is by it and how much he wants to get the facts out so that people can exercise their right to decide based on knowing as much as possible. I feel bad for him. Just as Obama when first running against her, he doesn't seem to be able to 'go there' and respond in kind - which may hurt him. Mind you, Obama did get pissed enough at it that he finally did, and I was so glad to see it.

Jmho, but Bill Clintion started much of what people there and across the world are dealing with today and I honestly believe she sees nothing wrong with the results of it, she's made many close ties because of it with those who benefit most and cannot stand to think of the status-quo changing in any meaningful way. It wouldn't even make sense to her - she doesn't see a problem with it.

Are you saying he's emotionally unstable?

He doesn't have the capacity to 'hate' others, he hates what's being done to people suffering and who need help. He always has.

And, I'll swear if I feel like it.

she's uncomfortable with.

Your selective outrage and trying so hard to label Sanders as the angry! (and now, emotionally unstable) man is fucked up, imo.

Sanders doesn't have to be 'advised' as to tone and language. Natural spontaneity and passion that comes from a lifetime of honesty isn't something that can be coached or faked. People see the difference, they aren't stupid.

She was bellowing at the beginning. Unhinged. Flailing.

The only time she seemed calm was when she smirked; this while Bernie was being asked foreign policy questions. You could see the glee in her eyes as she just couldn't wait to win points.

Ambition, entitlement, anger. That's what I saw from her last night. Talk about bullying.
