Ps- I'm a middle aged woman who is happy to pay higher taxes for lower insurance premiums and I'm also delighted to help out the younger generation pay for college. That's something Democrats do- be forward thinking for the future generations, not calling them greedy takers.

If they are constantly being told right now that they are stupid and only support the candidate because of "free stuff," or because they are naive, or because they are sexist/racist, or whatever the word or the day is, how would that make them want to come out and support the candidate who was saying that or who's supporters were saying that? You can't just beat them up and then say, "well, if you really cared, you'd still vote for this person." That sounds a lot like an abusive relationship.

For her to say she will never support single payer, will be the end of her campaign. Not supporting free tuition didn't help her cause either. IMO, she lost a lot more than the debate. All the rest of her baggage just falls in line with the rest of the bullshit.

There's a big difference, especially for students who could commute from home. Some state schools used to have free tuition; notably California BEFORE St. Ronnie Reagan.

The Iraq war and its aftermath created ISIS, literally. She has also had her hands in the destabilization of many other nations, which leads to more terrorism, which leads to more U.S. involvement and arms sales, and to more domestic fear and pointing fingers at Muslims. It's all part of the same vicious cycle of violence, one Hillary is a huge part of.

Hillary is one of the most hawkish Democrats. If she wins the nomination, that side of her will be on full display in the general election.

MADDOW: Senator Sanders, as a Vermonter, you have almost a home state advantage here in New Hampshire. But back home across the border, you also have a long history of running against Democrats as a third-party candidate, for governor, Senate, for Congress.

In 1988 your candidacy as a third-party candidate arguably cost the Democrats a congressional seat and sent a Republican instead.
How can you lead the Democratic Party nationally when you have not been a member of the Democratic Party until very recently?

SANDERS: Well, Rachel, actually, that wasn't accurate. In 1988 the Republican did win, I believe, by 3 points. I came in second. It was 34-31, I think, 19 for the Democrat. In that race the Democrat was the spoiler, not me. And it is true...

Not much of a surprise for people who know even just a few things about Bernie. That pool probably was thinking there they have chance to get Bernie a moment out of character while hitting him with a gotcha question.

Bernie is Bernie and most everything the guy seems to ever done seems to be done with forethought. I don't think they are going to have much luck with trying to impugn him with that approach.
