(20,709 posts)Karl Rove???
DanTex
(20,709 posts)Would that be a little too honest?
matter....... many homeowners were tricked into loans at that time. I bought a home during this time period and if I did not triple check what I was being sold by the banks my family and I would be homeless.

(20,709 posts)Is there some reason that you don't want people to be able to hear her remarks in context? Hmm, what could that be?
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)content when you said Karl Rove should come out and tell us all that he is funding and/or endorsing Bernie Sanders????
DanTex
(20,709 posts)I wonder what you're worried about? What do you think the context of those remarks might have been? Why are you so adamant about leaving it out?
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)"correct the record"
DanTex
(20,709 posts)Do you not think context matters? Are you trying to hide it intentionally? What gives?

(7,661 posts)go. Feel free to lend me hand and educate myself and others here at DU. I don't mind when people point out to me where I went wrong. Like I wrote before feel free to correct the record in my thread.

(20,709 posts)The context, of course, is that there were many factors at play. Banks were obviously a big one, but the part where she goes after Wall Street was edited out for propaganda purposes.
And the sentence that she said there wasn't "blaming homeowners for the crash", she simply said that homeowners who paid money to not have to disclose their income should have known better. Do you disagree with that?

(4,259 posts)It's your contention. Back it up.

(26,549 posts)and always attack OPs for some not including some magic context that only you know.
Oh well, I guess we lowly proles are not deserving of the magic context.

(26,549 posts)Otherwise, it's pretty obvious you actually got nothing, and are screaming "CONTEXT!!!" as a last resort.
DanTex
(20,709 posts)In this case, of course, it's obvious that there is missing context, because she first says that there are many causes, and then the video cuts to just one of them. And even there, it's not "blaming" anything on homeowners, it's simply pointing out the obvious truth that if you're paying extra money in order to not disclose your income to a lender, you should probably think twice about it.
I don't see how anyone can disagree with that. Do you think it's a good idea to take out a loan, which to qualify for, you pay extra money in order not to disclose your income?

(7,661 posts)what I was being told to do. Even though I was mourning the loss of my mother and being sued by my siblings I still was able to think clearly and thank God I had the time to do diligent research. Some think greed is good but it does harm many people in many ways.

(46,709 posts)What do you expect from a free marketer? Deregulate and loosen up the money, and when people take on financially responsibility for something they cannot possibly keep up with, blame them.
How is that being a good steward of our financial markets?

(12,754 posts)There's nothing wrong with asking for money. The gatekeepers, banks, are the ones who are supposed to protect the system from collapse.
It's like if my brother in law comes and asks me for $100,000 (which I don't have, by the way) to open a frozen yogurt stand in Antartica. He's a jerk, but if I lend it to him, I'm the problem.

(7,661 posts)tell someone to lie to you, make up fake income and talk them into taking more money than they can pay you back???? Well if you could take their home make them buy insurance to cover your loss perhaps you would think about it.....

(17,064 posts)...are so crafty and clever that they can swindle Wall Street banks, then I'd say the bankers are too stupid to be in charge.
