Have you noticed really odd body language between Trump and his wife?
I admit, I try to switch channels before I have to look at him for long, but my youngest is a political news junkie and had the TV on during the Iowa caucuses so I saw them together (and have caught them together elsewhere).
Thank God we're well past the era when a very attractive woman is assumed to be vacant and stupid just because the male gaze focuses on her externals. She's probably quite bright and I sympathize with her being married to such an ass.
However, she just seems to sit there and barely interact with him or anyone else. It's like she's afraid to seem engaged.
I assume prima facie that he's an emotional abuser if not outright batterer, so that's my knee jerk assumption--that she's terrified of him and afraid to do anything out of line for fear of being berated by him.
But I really don't know. Does anyone have any scuttlebutt on this?
Even weirder is how he never mentions her really (except to call her a piece of ass in the past, I believe) and never seems engaged with her. She really does seem like his piece of art work or something.
I don't care for Bill but obviously he adores and greatly respects his wife, and Bernie and Jane are obviously really engaged with each other. If you think about someone like Sarkozy and Carly Bruni--yes, she's a stunningly beautiful former model and multitalented--but clearly Sarkozy took her seriously and seemed to have a RELATIONSHIP with her. I mean, there are men who are capable of meaningfully acknowledging the humanity of their female partners.
Trump acts like Melania isn't even there or like she's a briefcase or Maltese or something. It's WEIRD.
