getting arrested for the right causes -- dude walks his talk to the extreme. He's still very active in our local politics and it is not uncommon to see him taking to our streets for important local issues. I used to see him a lot at a market here back in the 80s -- it was very hard to miss him standing in the checkout line because he stands a good head above everyone around him!

I was a flight attendant and he was flying with us on his way back home to the SF Bay Area. He was really hungry because he hadn't eaten in about a week because of the protests to help the agricultural workers. We found him another meal. Really good guy!
