Bernie's Mysterious Past

Not to long ago, here in DU, I had a rather distasteful exchange with someone that keep bringing up Bernie Sanders "mysterious" kibbutz era past.

I felt it was red-baiting and boardline antisemitic and we went back and forth and nothing came of it. There was nothing there of issue.

I was wrong. There was something there and it was amazing and wonderful. Every time we go deeper into what make Bernie Sanders tick, I learn to respect and admire him even more.

From the article:
“I know that we left an imprint on those people,” Mr. Ely said. “The imprint was believe in people, and be responsible for them. Not only for yourself.”

Thank you Mr.Ely.
