Asked to explain her huge speaker fees by a reporter on MSNBC, Clinton said (slightly paraphrased) "I wanted to explain my perspective on issues to the public as former Secretary of State. And it was an opportunity to gety practice in explained what we had accomplished."
Last I heard, the secretary of State is a government position. And she is selling that experience for $225,000 a pop?
I'd have some more respect for at least her honesty if she simply said "It was a chance to make lot of money in a very short time. It would be difficult for anyone to turn down a payday like that."

(9,841 posts)Sorry, but if you cash a six-figure paycheck from a big bank, don't be surprised if we think you work for them.

(3,967 posts)That sounds a lot smaller than $225,000. The speeches are a lot of seconds long.
What do you get paid per second?

(41,600 posts)everyone knows what Bernie is saying is true. You don't get $225,000 for a speech if you're Joe Blow and not connected.
She's bought and paid for.
Apparently, the truth hurts.
