Sorry but I'm actually kinda sad to hear that. I'm unable to look at a cabana as just a cabana... AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!

I did post a picture of the "cabana" at one point; it really is absurd when you see that it's just like two picnic tables with umbrellas and some plastic outdoor chairs.

Colombo may be a possible next foreign tour; that would have some cool pictures.

It's not so much that these two are bad (though I don't think either would be particularly great Presidents from a temperament standpoint); it's that the party really, really needs to get over the 1960s rather than re-fight that battle. I had hoped Obama's nomination in '08 was a sign we were moving past that, but it's looking like not.

But some Boomers seem particularly resistant to the idea that we are in the 21st century, or that the entire universe doesn't still spin on the fulcrum of the years between JFK and Patty Hearst.

Schweitzer, Tester, Castro, Villaraigosa, Gillebrand, Wolf, Patrick, Booker, Beshear, Hassan, McRaven, Gregoire... People who aren't older than my retired parents, and don't send two wings of the party into screaming matches with each other about stuff from a half century ago that people just can't let go of.

I feel compelled to tell you that I much appreciate this post.

On issues I like Bernie....and yes, I admit it's partly the familiarity of theme and the fact the issues of my youth have still not been addressed. If anything, the last 40-50 years the so called solutions only made matters worse in some respects.

BUT, that said. I am also disappointed the conversation is not more about the future. We will need an entirely different infrastructure moving forward to support future technologies. The haphazard quilt we have now is a bit of a mess. Expensive and completely inefficient. Holds us back IMHO.

Anyways, this boomer appreciates your post.

But fortunately the nutjobs on the Republican side do, and living in Massachusetts, I've got some local races (albeit ones unlikely to be particularly competitive) that interest me.

And since it looks like I'll be in Virginia my vote and effort may for once matter (I've previously voted in DC, MA, or MS which were all foregone conclusions). I guess that's kind of cool on its own.

Previously I've been in DC, MA, and MS, where GOTV only really mattered during the primaries themselves rather than the general; I'm kind of excited about the idea of being in a state that's not a foregone conclusion for once.

(The "compunction" thing was just a joke.)

to run against the power of the Clintons. If she
had not run a lot of good competition would have
stepped in.

Whatever happens the Obama enthusiasm has
subsided, but also any dem against the disaster
of W would have succeeded in 08.

What worries me more, and I think this will apply
to the rest of the US, that the republicans are voting
in greater numbers than the dems.

That I see as the real danger in 2016.
