Judy Woodruff should have disclosed at last night's debate, her gift to the Clinton Foundation.

Neither Woodruff nor Ifill broached the subject at last night's debate, even as we now hear that a subpoena was issued last fall to the Clinton Foundation, in the investigation of links between the Foundation and the State Department, when Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State.

May 21, 2015:

Michael Getler, the ombudsman for PBS, called on Thursday a decision by "PBS NewsHour" managing editor Judy Woodruff to donate to the Clinton Foundation "a mistake":

"Woodruff has had a distinguished, 45-year journalistic career, holding down important positions with CBS, NBC, CNN and PBS. She has always struck me as straight and professional in her approach to the news and, having watched her now for several years, I couldn’t tell you how she’d vote. But there are lots of ways to contribute to Haitian earthquake relief. So the choice of the Clinton Foundation, even in a small amount and with the best of intentions, was a mistake in my book."

As Getler explains, Woodruff recently discussed on air a donation of $250 to the Haiti Relief Fund, a charitable initiative founded by the Clinton Foundation in 2010 when the country was reeling from a massive earthquake. She addressed the contribution at the end of the "PBS Newshour" broadcast on May 15.

Woodruff's donation to the Clinton Foundation came under scrutiny after revelations that ABC Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos contributed $75,000 to the foundation to fight AIDS and deforestation. His contribution rankled many media observers who suggested it compromised Stephanopoulos' ability to report on the Clintons.

.....

Interesting how this subject never saw a glimmer of light last night. Does Woodruff know on which side her bread is buttered? The public wants to know.

A lie by omission is just as much a lie to the public as the more conventional definition.

February 11, 2016:

...Last month, Clinton denied a Fox News report that the FBI had expanded its probe of her private email server to include ties between the State Department and her foundation, calling it “an unsourced, irresponsible” report with “no basis” in fact.

Republican lawmakers have accused Clinton of allowing large donations from foreign governments to the foundation to influence her decisionmaking as secretary of State.

Bernie Sanders, Clinton's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, has largely refused to raise the issue. But last spring he did express concern that the Clinton Foundation was part of a political system “dominated by money.”

Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who led the foundation while his wife was serving as secretary of State, have denied any wrongdoing.

Representatives for Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, the State Department and Abedin declined to comment for the report.

Where do you stand today, Ms. Woodruff?

from the reports I've seen. Haiti is as bad or worse off than before.

But Hillary's brother got a nice cushy contract out of it. So that's a good thing. For them anyway.

Why not give the CGI credit for the good they do instead of worrying about a 250 buck donation from 2010?

There is also the Haiti Relief Fund but their job is more raising money than actual on the site work at least that is my understanding when I talked to them about donations last year.

Really. I'm sure that would buy lots of influence. Hell, I donated that much to the Haiti Relief Fund back then. It seemed like a good idea to get the money there where it would help. I wasn't even aware it was a Clinton Foundation organization. Who cares?

ETA: Here's the organization's website: http://haitirelieffund.org/haiti-relief/

A poor criticism, to say the least.

Amazing how Bernie gets scrutinized, but Hillary slides among these useless elitists.

How much did Goldman donate to PBS?

It is now owned and operated by the establishment.

As for siphoning one's charitable donations through the Clinton Foundation, you have to go out of your way to give through them. None of the major charitable networks operate through the Clinton Foundation.

I hope the investigation into this "foundation" continue,as there are so many questions about its operations..

This illuminates the deep ties with The Establishment that today's "Media" enjoy.... hell, they are PART of The Establishment. In this coordinated way, the public is robbed from evidence of who is really running the show for the Big Players' enjoyment and financial benefit. They all share the same bed. And the public loses.

Gaslighting the public is their specialty.

RIP, Mr. Cronkite. We sorely miss you.
