why SHOULD young people (esp of color) wait for incrementalism????

Why should they be told "NO WE CAN'T"??

Why should their dreams be tamped down?

It was MLK Jr, and RFK who told Americans to dream. And the hippies and then the boomers believed the dreams.

And then Reagan. And crony capitalism. And citizens united. Yada.

The young people today are the children and grandchildren of those dreamers. And their situations are too often grim and lacking hope.

Why should they wait for incrementalism?

Why should they not bring a revolution?

Why should they not repudiate the politics of the past??

To protect the wealthy?

To keep has-been politics in place?

This is their time. The young people.

And they choose Bernie.

Just want to confirm that.

This is a lecture, yes?

You are not explaining why YOU should do something, you are telling others why they should, so yes, lecture.

You know it, we arent kidding each other.

I keep hoping and praying you folks wont keep harming my candidate by lecturing Black people as to why to support my candidate, my candidate would not like it that you folks do that.

I am merely riffing off what he said.

And I'm not going to apologize for it.

Maybe the people who disagree with him could answer the question.

Why should anyone wait for incrementalism?

...not just young Blacks. That's why an upstart young Black Senator was nominated instead of an establishment candidate. Mixed results ensued. DLCorporatists have had 7 years of Obama presidency to carry out incremental change. Now people want big changes. Large segments of both parties and Independants are absolutely fed up with the status quo. Congress has a single digit approval rating...are they not paying attention? Party leadership must do more than acknowledge it and pay lip service. If they continue to sit on their hands, they'll find themselves swept under the oncoming tsunami.

candidates for congress and Governorships? Is not the only way to have positive change in the years to come?
Flipping a lever once was never going to cut it. Bernie has said as much.

It will be a long slog, maybe 10 or 20 years to achieve greater egalitarianism and equality.

By her own words, Hillary is not inclined to be this kind of leader. Bernie is.

Incremental change? Too little, too long.

about the long term plan that is essential to creating a revolution?

I don't get why Berners are not acknowledging that it will take much more than one man and four years?
Are they committed or not to the process? If they care about the country, they would be making long term plans whether it is Bernie, Hillary or Donald in the WH. One vote in November is just a drop compared to what it is going to take. Bernie know it- why don't we?

Your words are askew to anything that is being said by Bernie and his supporters. You completely mischaracterize things with strange, irrelevant ramblings.

No one but you is saying it's about "one man and four years."

All the Bernie supporters I know say electing him is just the beginning. We agree that it's a long haul. But, it must start with leadership from the top.

I will not be responding to you again.

I'm not in any position to tell anyone what he or she should do, especially if I do not share their experience. I say what I will do. If asked, I'll explain why. I do not tell others what they should or must do. It's not my call.

Everyone has agency over their own choices, or should have. Many have had that agency squashed. Any time someone tells someone else what to do, they are denying that agency.

Young people should vote as they think best.

Again... another editorial based on hypothetical arguments no one of note is using or arguing.
