2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo while Bernie was in Flint
Hillary was hosting a $250/plate (minimum) fundraiser with ye olde "Special Place in Hell" Albright.

If you cough up a grand you'll even get to have your photo taken with Albright.

(30,439 posts)It didn't look good and I suspect that's part of the reason why Bernie is trailing by a very large margin among African American voters.
EdwardBernays
(3,343 posts)he did that for free...
She of course is busy raking in the dough instead of going to Flint...
See how juvenile it is, pretending that if they aren't both in Flint at the same time, the one not there doesn't care about Flint...

Describes your OP perfectly.
EdwardBernays
(3,343 posts)go read the multitude of Bernie bashing articles saying that he didn't care about Flint because he wasn't going when Clinton went:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511157231
Bernie supporters were lectured for days about how he didn't care about Flint...
Shoes on the other foot now... and of course team hypocrite suddenly thinks that what they themselves were claiming two weeks ago is now silly.
No shit. It was silly.
emulatorloo
(44,133 posts)However it surprises me that you don't mention the good things Mayor Karen Weaver has said about HRC after she sent staff out to Flint in mid-January.
That's one of the reasons your OP seems a bit flame-baitish to me. It is essentially content free, it hits popular DU hot buttons, it leaves out facts.
EdwardBernays
(3,343 posts)go look at all of the Bernie bashing and mocking by Hillary supporters on that day...and by Hillary herseelf:
"I know Sen. Sanders went to New York to be on SNL' and I'm going to Flint to see if we can help with the kids"
That's Clinton.
So...

(3,343 posts)So you're saying when Clinton went it was the beginning of the crisis??
Or is that that just some random crap you've made up?

(2,340 posts)If he went two weeks ago, it wouldn't have happened?

(2,340 posts)Why was he two weeks too late?
Too late for what?
giftedgirl77
(4,713 posts)Now it's supposed to be a big deal.
Madam Mossfern
(2,340 posts)anyone's making a big deal of it.
giftedgirl77
(4,713 posts)doing some extraordinary thing while HRC is out rubbing elbows.
It's quite hypocritical considering BS was on SNL while HRC was in Flint don't you think?
Madam Mossfern
(2,340 posts)stop being disingenuous. Of course each candidate's supporters are going to be cheerleading the way there guy/gal does something.

(27,815 posts)and Bernie Sanders did not. This tit for tat could go on for days, but the reality is that Flint is hurting and can use attention from both camps, which it's getting. The fight is for Flint in a proximate way, and to repair our crumbling infrastructure in a broader way, and it's actually probably better if they go at separate times. If nothing else, it gives the people of Flint a chance to go see each candidate, rather than having events piled up at the same time.

(11,862 posts)Former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton, considered a likely front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 if she runs, is coming to Michigan next week.
Need I say more?

(27,815 posts)I suspect it will take a while to find evidence of Bernie on the stump for any Dems other than in Vermont. Because Never.

(3,343 posts)is Ted Cruz getting the nomination...
emulatorloo
(44,133 posts)Same policies, just different packaging.
EdwardBernays
(3,343 posts)Cruz is financed by big banks and has the former head of the CIA's Clandestine Services as his campaign chairman.
He's a dangerous sonofoabitch.

Chief of Staff, Department of Homeland Security (2007 2009)
Vice President, Goldman Sachs (1996 2006)
Investment Banker, Morgan Stanley (1994 1996)
Directorate of Operations, Clandestine Services, Central Intelligence Agency (1990, 1991 1993)
The PR guy that was pushing that Carson was dropping out in Iowa... also ex-CIA. No kidding.
He also has picked two of the worst neo-cons as his foreign policy advisors... and of course wants to carpet bomb the middle east.
He's about as scary as they get.

(39,961 posts)All of the people on the GOP side are nutty and will do a lot of harm to our country, but Cruz is a downright dangerous sociopath.
He MUST NOT get even the nomination, let alone the Presidency. I'm not sure what would scare me more, Cruz being President, or Cruz kicking the bucket and leaving Sarah Palin as Vice President. That's the stuff of NIGHTMARES.
EdwardBernays
(3,343 posts)would probably lose the keys to the White House on day one...
Aerows
(39,961 posts)a Palin family brawl that night on the White House lawn complete with a keg, cursing and beating up Secret Service people because their entourage was not recognized and their film crew wasn't admitted.

(1,788 posts)Ted Cruz doesn't care for babies and children. Is it OK to truly hate a person, because I'm there with this man (I won't say what he really is, because that would be rude).
