The Primaries and General are devolving yet again into personalities over issues and reality

This election has been an opportunity for a national soul searching about core issues in the United States and the World in 2016. A face off between Oligarchic Corporate Conservationism and the Public Interest.

But both the GOP and Democratic primaries have yet again devolved into Real Candidates of The USA.

And if the Clinton Brand (TM) succeeds in getting the nomination, issues will disappear entirely, except as carefully targeted tapioca marketing sales points.

Trump v. Clinton will be a personality battle. Issues will be secondary. Clinton will once again become the Centrist, and her message will be "Vote for Me because I am effective and I am not Trump or a Republican." Trump will become more centrist and say "Vote for Me because I am effective and I am not Clinton or a Democrat."...We'll have some entertaining distractions as two larger than life personalities battle it out. Wheeee! What fun.

IMO that'll be a damn shame, because America is poised to swing the Pendulum of History and stop the rightward political swing that started in 1980, and push it back in a leftward direction.

Instead, the stranglehold of the Corporate Elites and Wall St. Banksters will continue, and average people will continued to get screwed.

What a Country!

Is it manipulated to be that way?

In your scenario there is a winning group of people, no matter the outcome of the election.

Entertainment rather than Journalism.

Political marketing and salesmanship rather than issues and reality.
