"Lawyers for the Bernie Sanders campaign officially served the Democratic National Committee with lawsuit papers over the DNCs decision to deny him access to the voter database back in December.
Both the Sanders campaign and the DNC are waiting for the results of an independent audit conducted after Sanders national data director had made note of a breach in the voter files security, briefly allowing the Sanders campaign access to the Clinton campaigns data. The DNC subsequently cut off the Sanders campaigns access to the voter file a crucial tool for outreach to Democratic voters.
The Sanders campaign immediately fired the staffer who accessed the Clinton campaigns information, and access to the database was restored less than 24 hours after it was removed. Nonetheless, the Sanders campaign argues that the short-lived lack of access was a serious blow to voter outreach
The campaign is seeking $75,000 in damages, alleging breach of contract." ...

(1,947 posts)are fine with. We are not seeking your permission nor admiration. We are going to fundamentally transform the democratic party into a party for the people if we have to bring you, like we need to do with the republicans, kicking and screaming into the new century. Bernie sanders may not win the election, but he already won the message. Hand's down, Hillary coopted most of it, even Trump can run left of her because he did as well. The problem with Hillary is simple, she had had so many different messages people do not trust her, some democrats do but independents, nope. As stated, I know longer care for your third way nonsense, and I bet I can speak for many more who are against the same stuff. You know the change is coming, and it is due to the people who are supposed to represent us, selling us out for campaign contributions. Favors. Legalized bribery. Resistance if futile.

(34,648 posts)Whatever. He's finished. She berned him off the block.
timmymoff
(1,947 posts)oh that's right she adopted every policy stance of his she didn't have. As stated, he won the message. You do not need to fear the changes that will be made. We wouldn't have had to make them had you and like minded "democrats" not sold yourselves out. Bang up job DWS has done with the party. He isn't finished, we are just getting started.

(1,377 posts)Sanders setup campaign. His staff need someone skilled in using software that was given by the DNC, so they asked DNC and software vendor to recommend someone. They hire this person on advice of the DNC and software vendor. Sanders campaign learns from news media that someone in his staff had accessed Hillary db by using a known(to software company) exploit.
DNC let the media and Clinton campaign know this event went on and never even informed Sanders campaign. So as soon as Sanders campaign found out this happened they asked the guy who was from DNC recommendation what he did and why. He said he was only testing something, but he never let anyone else know he was. This guy was then fired over this. This guy was not part of Sanders team but was hired because both DNC said this is guy you should hire.
Whole thing is kinda icky in how it went down. But the fact the DNC went to the media and Clinton and never asked Sanders campaign about it until they got call from media tells me DNC did some crap. And that is reason the Sanders campaign is suing.

(11,257 posts)Sounds like even the campaign realizes that its pretty much over and just wants to maximize its leverage going forward.
timmymoff
(1,947 posts)he'd be winning. How much more leverage does he need other than control of 45 % of the democratic vote, something you Hillary supporters never understand. The democratic party is doomed if she is nominated. Enthusiasm is out the window. We will not likely make gains in house and senate, state, local anywhere with her as standard bearer. A weathervane flag inspires few.

I wish Bernie had kicked Walker and Devine to the curb back then and gotten some people of integrity of his side.

(1,947 posts)the democratic party is heading in the right direction? Does its gradual shift toward the right over 30 years not show? I personally do not recognize it as being the same. Things change, but not core issues. Some of us have bought into the corporate wing of the party nonsense a bit more than others, it's not working. Should it remain intact? I don't think so.

(1,947 posts)how has that move to the right went for say, the house, the senate, governorships and state legislatures? When an organization is failing it restructures. One of the most common moves is returning to what worked before. The next move is adapting and trying to create positive differences with your competition. Because of that shift toward the right we only have social issue differences, but the big business wing gives them the ability to say " they are all the same". And they would be close to correct. When you show me the proven track record that acting like republicans gets democrats elected, I will be more than happy to agree. This site is perfect for me. Thank you for the welcome.

(44,183 posts)Yes DNC needs to be reformed. That doesn't mean you need ro first try to bleed money out of it with a frivolous lawsuit.
I hope Weaver's bullshit political trick lawsuit is thrown out of court and any court costs come out of his fucking salary. Which is paid by donors like you and me
