I think I have seen more threads complaining or offering solutions to deal with trolls then actual troll threads... Please don't hit me!

Decidedly uncreative trolls, these. Oh, well. I like your generic response, though.

The concern does get a bit much. If someone is truly worried, you'd think posting in a thread addressing the topic would get them some responses that might assuage those worries for them. But, no, so many feel the need to start an entirely new thread to swoon over those concerns. That's when folks get suspicious and rightfully so. That's when it feels either like simply a bid for attention or a deliberate attempt to bring down morale. Any real concern gets lost in the dustup that inevitably follows.

Genuinely concerned? Find an existing thread about the issue and post there.

And that's my take on it.

Is it going to change the outcome?

If the worrying leads to positive action like donating, phone banking, driving folks to the voting place, et cetera then it's leading to positive action. However, worrying for the sake of worrying and then trying to make others worry strikes me as profoundly self indulgent behavior.

Still, I get that some folks have moments where they worry and they shouldn't have to hide it. My issue with that is when they start their own threads and trumpet it for everyone to hold their hand. There's a big difference between seeking some reassurance and seeking the limelight. There's really no point in the latter beyond self-indulgence.

And I happen to agree with you that it does no good to worry unless positive action is the end result.

But dumb is as good as dumb gets. What do you hope to accomplish? Fooling everyone into thinking you're intelligent? That only proves how fucking dumb you are.
