Related: About this forumRomney ‘s sabre rattling will be awkward in the debate given the hint of talks with Iran.
The President can say diplomacy is always a first option whereas Romneys advisors shoot first policy will look bad for Romney at this time. He will be forced into another flip-flop and another Romnesia seizure.

The President needs to CONFRONT Romney on whether he wants to go to war
with Iran, because if he doesn't, nothing Romney could do to Iran is worse
than what the President is currently doing.
Call Romney's bluff. He's a chickenhawk draft dodger who talks big and doesn't
have CLUE when he's talking about when it comes to foreign affairs. All he
can do is repeat what other people have told him because he has NO EXPERIENCE.

The scientist said that Iran is years away from a nuclear weapon and that people should not be engaging in fearmongering.
Obama should refer to this scientific research during the debate.

(1,372 posts)He needs to emphasize that this guy is a loose canon. He not only has a bunch of war hawks on his staff, he also says completely inappropriate things, gets off on talking big, and is nothing but a bully. That won't work on the world stage, and at the extreme, could even start wars. So IMO, Obama should not be afraid to call him out on his recklessness, and he has plenty to back up that characterization--Romney's saber rattled on Syria and Iran, the way he jumped into the fray on Benghazi before any facts were known, etc. What's more, characterizing him as reckless will ring true with the American people, who have seen how he acts toward opposing candidates and moderators in the primaries and presidential debates, and know that he's very much a hot-headed, bully who looks down at and sneers at others.
