Hillary says email charges ain't gonna happen. Says “Republicans’ fondest wishes won't be fulfilled"
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent a message to Republicans hoping to see her in handcuffs after the FBI investigation into her use of a private email server: “That is not gonna happen.”
“Oh my goodness,” Clinton said in an interview with Matt Lauer of NBC’s “Today” that aired Friday. “Well, Matt, I know that they live in that world of fantasy and hope because they’ve got a mess on their hands on the Republican side. That is not gonna happen. There is not even the remotest chance that it’s going to happen.”
Clinton dismissed the pending probe of her homebrew server as a “security review” that’s only gotten so much traction because the Democratic presidential candidate is involved.
“We’re certainly gonna carry on,” she said of her campaign. “I think — it’s a security review. It’s a security review, and there are lots of those that are conducted in our government all the time, and you don’t hear about most of them. You’ll hear about this one because it does involve me, so that’s why it gets so much attention.”
Clinton said the GOP has been spewing false and sometimes ridiculous statements about her for a quarter-century now and predicted that the charges Republicans are hoping for will be added to the list.
“The Republicans’ fondest wishes will not be fulfilled,” she said.
