More anti-semitic crap being thrown at our Jewish nominee from Hillary surrogates.

NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... you CAN'T stay on topic.
Big crowds are awesome!!! Too bad the primary process doesn't award delegates on that basis. Only VOTES count - crowd-size doesn't count for anything.
dchill
(38,516 posts)It's not your thread. And, the REAL topic is 48,000.

(3,660 posts)Does the skit where the used CP Time count then?
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... says something offensive, and the candidate for whom he was speaking thanks him for his remarks, yes, that is different than any individual saying something in a Tweet - as an individual, and not in any official capacity for a candidate.
Did Hillary tweet a "thank you" to Watson for his comments?
revbones
(3,660 posts)So I'm sure you're outraged about that racist joke as well.
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... other than BS supporters?
You might want to check out the AA Group here on DU once in a while - that's the place where the people who were supposed to be outraged about that skit - uh, how do I put this? - weren't.
revbones
(3,660 posts)Who other than BNR readers and Hillary followers ready to gin up fake outrage thought the "corporate whore" comment was offensive?
It's such an overused non-sexist term, it's even on urban dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=corporate+whore
I also think many were offended by using "CP Time" in what amounted to a minstrel show.
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... by using "CP Time" in what amounted to a minstrel show."
Okay. Name them. Other than BSers, who were these many offended people?
revbones
(3,660 posts)Or were even outraged by it? Why do you expect others to square up to a standard you're not able to.
Now, I'm sure you're able to contort into a position where white people saying "CP Time" isn't racist. But if you're able to twist up that far, I can't fathom how you'd try to say "corporate whore" is sexist.
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... other than BSers, who found the "CP Time" skit offensive. Good - we've got that out of the way.
I never said that the term "corporate whore" was sexist.
What I DO find offensive is someone running as a candidate for the Democratic Party thanking a speaker for saying that any Democrat is a "whore".
If Bernie thinks he's gaining any traction among actual Democrats by thanking someone for demeaning their party, he's free to do so. I suspect that the NY primary results will reflect just what NY Democrats think about someone who has consistently demeaned their Party, and their judgment in electing the people they have to represent them.
But of course, the usual BS excuses will be trotted out - the vote was rigged, Bernie supporters had their registrations flipped - or he would have won, but he thought going to the Vatican to deliver a ten-minute speech was more important, and thereby lost his much-touted "momentum".
revbones
(3,660 posts)I think there's a difference between calling someone a "whore" and a "corporate whore", given it's common usage now.
I also think that people that believe that the "D" behind someone's name is magical. By the very definition I linked to in the urban dictionary, there are many democrats that are corporate whores.
By that definition, many believe it applies to Hillary as well.
I really don't get people that assume you can't speak ill of anyone in the party. If they truly believed that, then they should move to North Korea and get used to saying "Dear Leader" a lot, because that's basically what they're asking, just "Dear Party Member" instead.
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... you are hoping to nominate you as their leader doesn't strike you as counter-productive, I don't know what else to tell you.
revbones
(3,660 posts)What crime is finally too much and would cross the line for you that would cause you to not support a Democrat? Is there a line? Putting aside all the lines Hillary has crossed, where is that line for you?
It's a bit bizarre hearing from some about party loyalty so much so that it takes the small-d democracy and big tent aspects out of the Democratic Party completely.
NanceGreggs
(27,817 posts)... we'll let Democrats decide who represents them and who doesn't.
Thus far, millions of more Democrats have voted for HRC than BS. The Democrats ARE speaking - and I think they'll be speaking up in NY next week.

(19,926 posts)It's yet another faux outrage playing the gender card, undermining the women's movement every chance they get. I don't know if they are too stupid to know they are doing it or they really don't have one iota of principle left.

Mea culpa: reference earlier tonight to style of Sanders rally was historically insensitive - unintentionally, but deserves an apology.

(20,043 posts)Mea culpa is a Latin phrase that means "through my fault" and is an acknowledgement of having done wrong. Grammatically, meā culpā is in the ablative case, with an instrumental meaning
is what is said. I've seen that used as an apology all the time. looked liked an apology to me.
edited to add: I really don't care. I have no idea who this guy is. I just came across this tweet.

Or are you asking if the political revolution is adopting some sort of marker, like blue tee shirts or Bernie logos to show solidarity?
Considering Tommy hates the rally in Washington square, I think he'd prefer the starry ones.
