SOMEONE PLEASE GET ED RENDELL OFF TV!

Democrats seriously need to get that discouraging depressing republican butt kissing so called "Democrat" Off TV NOW! He is of no use to us. none! Everytime I see his face he's spouting bull. I couldn't believe my ears when he went on MSNBC just now & told Tameron Hall that Romney had momentum. Seriously?? Not to mention the many times he's been on Chris Matthews touting doom & gloom for Obama! I mean really who's side is he on? Is he auditioning for republican idol? Really you guys If democrats don't get his arse off TV now...I'm gonna go insane! GET HIM OFF!

Grumble all you want, but Rendell isn't carrying water for the Republicans, he's politically saavy, and he's offering his analysis. The bottom line is that, while things look good in Ohio and that's 90% of the game, it -is- a close election, and Romney has narrowed or erased leads in other States. Better to strategize based on reality, rather than wishful thinking.

It's one thing to give fair analysis, it's another to just give nothing but negativity For a ticket that your supposedly rooting for! We are 11 days before Election & It is not the time! We need to be giving positivity not doom & gloom! weve come too far for that! It's bad enough the beltway media & republicans spout this false "Romney momentum" but to hear that crap from one of your own? C'mon. Democrats need to get him off TV period. Let him speak as an independent voice! NOT A DEMOCRAT!

Democrats need to stop repeating republican's talking points. The only poll that moving towards romney is gallup. Three trackers showed improvement for Obama. Where's the momentum? The race is stable right now. And Obama is leading in EV.

...Rendell hasn't been truthful for quite a while now unless you consider carrying GOP water being truthful.

As far as Romney erasing leads in other states, that's complete hogwash and you know it.

Speaking of reality, when do you intend to join the rest of us there?

If he was, he'd be able to win an election. That hasn't been the case for a long time.

He's your typical blue dog, where everything is good news for Republicans.

"Obama singe-handedly repels alien invasion! What do you think, Ed?"
"Well, this is really going to help Romney, because he was able to connect with voters while Obama was off doing something-or-other about saving our species"

He was one of the first Democratic Party leaders (I think he was chair of the DNC) to call for Al Gore to concede in 2000.

He is one of those Democrats who always seems to think that Repuglicans are superior to Democrats ... some kind of self-loathing thing going on there.

He, Harold Ford, Jr., Halperin, and of course, Scar, are at least 5 reasons why that show is just abominable.
So whenever I see Rendell on any show, it conjurs up visions and memories of that good ol' boys' club show and its hacks.

I had the pleasure of watching him capitulate to the repugs for years as my mayor and governor and then he capped it off with his brilliant performance as DNC chair. I'll never forget him telling Dems it was time to "move on" after the Bush/Gore travesty. He is no help and should stick to football commentary.

opposition has to do to gain an advantage against YOUR OWN side! It's kind of like a trick question and I'm surprised that anybody with any sense would answer it. The difference with him is that it just rolls right out of his mouth, and it seems that of all the surrogates there are, they ALWAYS ask him or he's ALWAYS there when it gets asked.

EXAMPLE:
"Gov. Rendell, just what exactly will the Republicans have to do now to make up for the momentum they lost last week, and just how would they be able to regain that lead that they had over your party this time last month?" etc.

1. First of all, it is messed up that this is a routine question for all the talking heads to be asking. But....

2. I don't remember a spokesperson from either side calling them on this. If anybody ever decides to do a little critical thinking and dares to reply, "I can't even believe you would think of asking a question like that. So, of course, I'm not about to answer that on a television show - to give away strategy for the other side? You've got to be kidding - what kind of fool do you take me for?"

Has anybody else ever noticed this question, and how the party reps. usually plunge right ahead into an answer without questioning whether that's a good idea or not? Whenever I hear that question, no matter which party, I listen to it with incredulity and then feel like it's all just a game - like politics doesn't matter! It's like asking Coca-Cola spokespersons to offer suggestions to Pepsi on how they can gain an edge on the sales of Coke! It's preposterous if you think about it!

When I saw and read this thread, it made me imagine that he must have been the first Dem guest spokesman who was asked this ridiculous question...that kind of question reminds me of Ed Rendell...and show hosts have been asking it ever since.
