Obama clings to slim lead in Virginia, according to poll

President Obama is clinging to a slender four-point lead over Republican Mitt Romney in Virginia as both sides ramp up already aggressive campaigns in the crucial battleground state, according to a new Washington Post poll.

Obama outpolled Romney, 51 to 47 percent, among likely Virginia voters, although he lost the clearer 52-to-44 percent advantage he held in mid-September.

Unlike in the Washington Post-ABC News national tracking poll, Obama still has an edge when Virginia voters are asked who better understands people’s financial problems, and he has not fallen behind a surging Romney on the question of who would better handle the national economy. Nor has Obama lost significant ground among self-identified independents in Virginia, as he has nationally.

The results underscore the importance of swing states like Virginia, with its 13 electoral votes, as both campaigns seek to secure a path to the 270 electoral votes needed for victory.

You would think the paper that endorsed Obama would print a realistic headline, considering he had been tied or a couple points behind in some polls..

3. So, a 4-point lead for Obama is "slim" while Rmoney having a 1-point lead anywhere is "momentum."

4. Is that the latest media narrative? Clinging to slender lead?

I bet MItt would do cartwheels for a one point lead. This MSM is very disrespectful of our POTUS--even MSNBC. Now the way I see it a four point lead for our POTUS is significant at this stage of the election--and enough to deliver a victory. Oh and one final thing Mitt can't even be original. Didn't the Jacksons do a "Victory" Tour back in the 80s. Hey MItt, the 80s called and you're still a loser.

We forget sometimes that todays media is so competitive and instead of reporting the facts they like to drive the narrative. It is unprofessional in my opinion.

cringe from pure embarrassment:

President Obama holds a four-point lead over Republican Mitt Romney in Virginia as both sides ramp up already aggressive campaigns in the crucial battleground state, according to a new Washington Post poll.

Obama outpolled Romney, 51 to 47 percent, among likely Virginia voters. The last Washington Post poll in September showed a 52-to-44 percent advantage.
