(23,272 posts)Bill is 100% wrong here.
Please wake up.
I'm on record that I neither want nor expect an indictment. But if Comey recommends an indictment, the Democratic party, of which I'm a member, will be fucked this election. It won't take Loretta Lynch either sitting on it or acting on it to make.the Republicans go ape-shit.
President Obama who I particularly like, will have his scandal free administrative record smeared by a Clinton scandal.

(23,272 posts)You don't have to believe me but those are the facts sea. The FBI is not partisan and this isn't a right wing nut job investigation.
I'm not happy about it either. I hate the thought that anything mars Obama's legacy.
But it remains as truth that Hillary willfully obstructed the FOIA requests and opened up this can of worms on herself.

(110,159 posts)whatever reason. And I think it will be proved out.

(23,272 posts)Really, I'd love to know.
Obama's appointed IG'S are Democrats. How are they a part of a rw smear job?
Exactly how is the FBI partisan?

(23,272 posts)These are Dem IG'S and the non-partisan FBI.
Exactly how does the right wing play into this?
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)are playing obtuse or I was not clear.
I am not saying IG or the FBI are part of a rw smear. Was that more clear? They have their reason for taking this in the direction they did. I still do not feel it is amounting to anything and unless I have the opportunity for a sit down with the IG or The FBI, I cannot tell you why they chose to do what they have. They will tell us in time.
riderinthestorm
(23,272 posts)Reliably Dem sources are similarly concerned.
The RW didn't start this "mess". Obama's IG'S did.
Nobody "pumped" this mess. Hillary did when she obstructed the FOIA requests. That sent a message that there was "something" there.
Hillary "played" the mess when she illegally deleted emails on her private server in defiance of a FOIA request.
And now any "hype" is because Hillary has been found to have stored classified info on a rogue server, including correspondence with Obama banned advisor Sidney Blumenthal, top secret docs that should never have been outside the gov.com world etc
This is all on her head.

(18,115 posts)It may have started as a rw smear job or witch hunt, but Democratic appointed officials found enough evidence to launch and continue and lengthy criminal investigation. And two independent federal judges have found evidence of wrong doing at State.
This has long since ceased being a rw smear job.

(8,541 posts)If the Clinton's really believed the emails in question did actually belong to the State Dept. Why did they have to ask for them back? And lest Hillary's game is better than Bill's.
And his analogy is terrible.

That statement does intimate that servers for the Foundation existed and was in operation prior to her appointment.
But we'll take her for her word as established on the record.

I think the game is in Bill and Hillary's heads. It is them vs the world with the goal being able to how much they can get by with and come out on the top.

a) She never turned the emails in WHEN she left the State Department/they figured it out TWO YEARS LATER.
b) She said "they belong to the State Department" - so WTF were they doing in her basement TWO YEARS AFTER SHE LEFT STATE and had signed documents saying she turned everything in?
c) When they asked for ALL of her stuff, she deleted 30,000 and turned in another 30,000. She lied about the fact the deleted ones were "all personal".
d) She told State and the public the emails contained NOTHING classified, so State (per her request) put them out there AND THEN FREAKED because there was CLASSIFIED stuff out there.
e) He says it's a game - is he out of his mind? Does he think KERRY tried to screw her when he ASKED POLITELY and gave her months to come clean? Does he think FOIA is a joke?
He's a great speaker, but he relies on people being ignorant.
I am so disappointed in him, for so many reasons.

(615 posts)He had a similar meandering, admit-no-wrongdoing explanation as to why she said she was under Bosnian sniper fire when the video showed otherwise. I don't know what comes of it, but Obama's IG and the FBI do not just investigate things for kicks. And the decision to have the private server in her home was just bad judgment to begin with, to even open this can of worms in the first place.

(26,109 posts)they are going to interview Bill? Since there's a good chance he was reading official State Dept emails when he shouldn't have been. The server in her basement already being used for Foundation business also makes that a giant possibility.

(10,336 posts)wonder again why she didn't do the decent and honorable thing for the party way back when. And the answer to that question, which I have asked repeatedly during this campaign MUST be...wait for it...there's nothing there. At least I hope there's nothing there, because his talking about it gives it exposure. Here and all over the net, where this generation lives. I don't mind kicking this one.
Either that, or he's spinning like a Maytag. Unfortunately for him, he has a history so it's up to him to make us believe him.

(11,076 posts)The question is, do people want a president who has such little regard for the law? Not only the server issue but going behind President Obama 's back and hiring someone she was told not to work with. Can she expect her Cabinet members to be honest and truthful when she was not?

(5,400 posts)That kind of charm is much less effective in the age of instant google look ups and social media. But he does get his point across to his target audience which includes those inclined to buy into what he's pitching.
Might have helped get Secretary Clinton her big lead. And it might all be moot when the FBI signs off to the DOJ, and the DOJ has to decide if it thinks it has cause to go forward with that.
