Some rank and file D's on twitter are saying the President is going to oversee the process does anyone know if this is true?

(11,605 posts)Outgoing presidents usually speak at the convention. Bush did not in 2008 because Hurricane Gustav gave him and McCain a convenient way to get out of having an unpopular outgoing president give a prime time speech.
I believe it is traditional for outgoing presidents to speak on the first night of the convention, but I could be wrong about that.
