(4,443 posts)You did your homework. You get a gold star. If you all vote, you could actually turn your state purple for us. Thanx again!
As I said earlier in the week on another thread, it doesn't matter whether you live in a state you know will go Obama (eg. California) or you know will go Romney (Idaho).
Every vote still matters in states like this because it all goes into the Popular Vote 'Pot' that the media will be looking at during the night in trying to determine whether Obama has a 'mandate'.
So make sure you vote even if it doesn't effect the Electoral College, because it will effect the Popular Vote.

You're a brave soul--I don't know how people in super-red states cope. My neighborhood is reddish purple, which is bad enough, but at least my state is blue!

Then I sent my useless, but nonetheless cast, vote from Dallas by absentee from Germany.
My state will not the way I did. I'm confident that my country will, though.

We need to get Missouri back to "swing state" contention here, if not solid blue.
It was very satisfying to help Claire McCaskill overcome Akin, though.
But here's something: I'm a middle-aged white male, in a currently-red state, but it's not like I'm some bizarre anomaly. The majority in that demographic may not vote with us, but thousands and thousands of us do (and proudly, and some of us fiercely!)

Wyoming Democrats will gather tonight at the Betty Rock Cafe here in Jackson to watch returns. We'll cheer as each of the blue states get called.
