Hillary Clinton to Say Trump Could Drive the U.S. Economy Off a Cliff
The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee will go after her rival in a speech on his economic plans in Ohio Tuesday.
Hillary Clinton turns to the economy this week to try to land a one-two punch on Donald Trump, challenging his business record and policy promises Tuesday, and then offering her own affirmative case on Wednesday.
The two speeches, which will be delivered on consecutive days in battleground states, are aimed at sharpening the presumptive Democratic nominees economic message as she heads into the general election and tries to make the case to voters that shes best suited to stimulate growth and create jobs.
On Tuesday, in Columbus, Ohio, shell turn her attention to the presumptive Republican nominee and argue that if you put Donald Trump in the steering wheel of the American economy, he is very likely to drive us off a cliff, senior policy adviser Jake Sullivan said. Working families, working Americans would be the ones who bear the brunt of the impact.
The speech will follow the same model as the foreign policy address Clinton gave earlier this month in San Diego, Calif., in which she pilloried Trumps claims and plans for dealing with other countries. In that speech, she called his ideas dangerously incoherent and argued that he is unfit to be commander-in-chief. Everything she said about Donald and our security is equally true when it comes to our economy, Sullivan said.

(7,819 posts)point to a horrible economic record in the WH and in individual states, including ridicule for sticking with trickle down, for pretending to be concerned about inequality, for trying to undermine safety nets, for supporting elimination of minimum wage, for destroying unions, for privatizing anything not nailed down, for increasing deficits, cutting education, ignoring science, etc?
THERE'S SO, SO MUCH CRAP TO POINT OUT that Trump, or any gop nominee, is heir to. I'm not for ignoring Trump, but it sure should be pointed out that he merely personifies gop wet dreams with respect to the elite getting over at the expense of others.
But...Especially when it's obvious Trump will not be the nominee?

Betting markets now give Trump a 14% chance of NOT being the GOP nominee. That's higher than it was before Indiana. http://bit.ly/1PEDmVl

I'd be on Trump's side of that bet, I think. (I'd buy him at 86%). Despite all his troubles, there's not really a credible plan to oust him.
