Just said "women have a right to choose" when asked about abortion rights.
I think we can safely cross him off the VP list.

(7,768 posts)Although I truly suspect that in Dump's personal history, he and a partner or two have themselves invoked their "right to choose".

(22,871 posts)right to choose, that's never going to stop them from trying to stop others from doing the same. The right to an abortion has never been denied to people with money, legal or not.

(2,897 posts)1 or 2 (depending on where Trump is that week) candidates on a presidential ticket that are not completely against choice makes me smile.

(22,871 posts)pro choice,if ever. At least in the general election, the anti choice morons are a huge chunk of that party.

(22,871 posts)if a Trump family member needed an abortion,a safe abortion procedure would be provided. I doubt that he's pro or anti abortion,it's irrelevant either way to him.

But, fwiw, most of Trump's core of populist voters probably don't care all that much or at all, though many have probably been in the habit of thinking of themselves on that team. They know he's at most not a committed anti-abortionist and at worst pro-, and don't care.
Many never did care all that much. If I were an anti-abortion leader, I'd be very worried about this unraveling of the once mostly unified conservative stand on this issue. If the Democrats are for/against it, I'm against/for may not be quite as strong a mantra as it has been.
