It reminds me what's happening now with liberals wanting Elizabeth Warren to run in the worst way.But if he had ran I think he would have gotten the nomination instead of Bill Clinton.And how history would be so different

Bush was so popular in the wake of the Gulf War victory that many of the party's biggest names were hesitant to run. (There was a Saturday Night Live skit about the democratic debates that was titled something like "The Race to Avoid Losing to Bush," and the idea was that each of the candidates was trying desperately to tank the debate. The guy playing Cuomo just kept saying some variation of "I have ties to the mob.&quot

One of the reasons Clinton actually won is because he was really early in launching his campaign, while others held off since they were skittish. The primary season then was really short. The Iowa Caucus was in February, and Super Tuesday was only 28 days later. By then, he essentially had it wrapped up, though Jerry Brown held out until the convention.
