(34,136 posts)The speeches were wonderful but today has been emotionally draining.
Plus I had to assemble two office chairs today so I'm worn out.

I have assembled furniture many times in my life....it can be draining.
Good to see ya, csziggy.

(34,136 posts)I kept yelling and laughing and crying and clapping - he couldn't sleep inside.
The real bitch is that the new chair is too big for me. It should fit my husband so we'll probably keep it. But the old chair that I had disassembled, then reassembled will have to be taken apart again. Then we have to try again to get the old lifter out - which we spent a week trying to do and failed.
If I can get a new lifter put in place, I will recover the old chair. Otherwise I have to search again for a chair that will fit me. I like the old chair but the lifter no longer lifts and the upholstery is messed up.

Phew, glad that was taken care of. I was starting to get concerned for their concern, cause I know how stressful that can be for all concerned.
BTW. Awesome 2 nights! We knocked it out of the park!

(30,481 posts)I don't want to take away from the others but I'm still blown away by MO last night.
Without being an insider I imagine MO took serious and personal issue with Clinton at one point. I would have. Yet it's clear she has great respect for her. Truly genuine.
I don't know. Guess I'm just a bit proud tonight. The Obamas exemplify what governance and human compassion should be. I had some thoughts back to the Bush years tonight. Such an embarrassment. I hate to say this about any politician but I feel lucky Obama came along when he did and took the chance. He was an outsider and captured that which was good in all of us. I love having President Obama and First Lady Obama in the people's house.
I think I'm a bit emotional this evening.

(72,790 posts)I watched Day 1 of the convention and it was fantastic.
I worked tonight (Day 2), and it was probably best that I did not watch.
I congratulate Hillary Clinton on her historic nomination, and I hope she wins the presidency.
But I am not a fan of the Clintons, especially not a fan of Bill Clinton, so it was better off that I did not see his speech.
I tried to stay off DU and let those who wanted to celebrate, celebrate.
Thanks for this thread. Have a good one.

(11,833 posts)Hey, people have lives.
Ah well. I started a 'DNC Day 2' thread, it got one other post and sank like a stone. Perhaps partly 'cause I had other stuff to do and only watched Bill's speech.

(83,816 posts)I was concentrating on the stage, lovemydog. It really was amazing. I will have to re-watch his speech, must admit I was zoning out on the beginning of it.
