FGOTUS? (A moot and frivolous discussion)

I'm all for calling Bill "First Gentleman" when (yes, *when*--I'll hear no "if's) Hillary becomes President. But what about the acronym?

POTUS & FLOTUS work so well. But FGOTUS? We could drop the "F" but I'm not sure that "GOTUS" is that much better. Thoughts?

And yes, it's a moot point...but I think we could all use a frivolous discussion or two, as a breather from all the heavy, serious and often very tense discussions we've been having.

Or FSOTUS? First Spouse--it could be a gender neutral term...

The "First Dude" crowd raises their heads every now and again...

FHOTUS--First Husband--LOL, sounds like she's got a few of them stashed here and there!

6. I like "First Spouse" but I don't think anyone wants to retire "FLOTUS"...

Which brings to mind flower petals drifting on a breeze. Such a nice image for a First Lady. And wouldn't FSOTUS be pronounced "Fzzz-Oat-us"? Or maybe "F-SO-Tus?" Kinda sounds like "futz" or "fizzy" or just "soda." But then that's the problem, right? None of them are quite as apt as FLOTUS.

2. I think his label in the media will be "Former President Clinton"

He is unique in not just being the spouse of a President, but a former President himself.

Living ex-Presidents never lose the title of "President".

I grant you it's absolutely correct to call him President Clinton and deferentiate between the two with "former"...but I suspect the Media would really like some better way to refer to the pair than: "President Clinton and Former President Clinton..."

That could really get tiring.

And it is the tradition to refer to the Spouse of a president as "First ______". I don't see why he should get a pass just because he used to be President.

for our country's sake.

FDOTUS doesn't flow much better, but I'd be happy with whatever, so long as we make it happen and get as many repukes walking papers as possible.

It'll be interesting to see how the media deals with it.

I like it (and we'd have the easy PH&B as the abbreviation)...nevertheless, I think it'd be best if we distinguish Bill with his own, unique moniker. Presidents Hill & Bill does make it seem like they're both behind the Oval Office Desk--which they might be when they move back into the White House. However, as the buck will stop with Hillary, and she'll be the one under fire for the decisions, whatever advice she takes/doesn't take from Bill, she should get POTUS all to herself.
