Can we please lay this to rest now?

I have seen comments here that were painful to read regarding Bernie.... some irate and very disparaging. The man is a legend in my opinion. A real gentleman. I probably will not see the likes of him again in my lifetime. What he did yesterday was the definition of a total class act.
It is over. The man has left the building. Hillary is now the future of the party.
Can we focus on that now? The divisiveness here has been brutal at times. There are those who are ecstatic and those who are still mourning their loss. Respect towards one another and understanding is what is needed to unify us. Give it some time and be gentle.
As the saying goes, "you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar."
Peace.

He may be leaving Philly (I don't know) but he is not slinking away into the void.

I'm a big Hillary Clinton supporter, primarily because she is/was the most intelligent candidate running....

But even if I didn't like her, there's no way a rational person can stay home, vote green or vote gop.

Trump is just nuts.

People can hate the system or whatever they want to do, but if you've ever actually thought of a Trump presidency, it's insane. You can't talk about his positions because they change every 3 seconds, you can't talk about his demeanor without wondering if he's on drugs...Imagine a real war....do you want Hillary intelligently thinking through the situation, or Trump who read a tabloid making the decision?

No rational person could help elect him. Everybody should jump into the Hillary boat like Bernie did.

For me, as a Hillary supporter, I say YES. Moving forward and working hard is what I want to do. Bernie did a classy thing last night. He did exactly what he's always said he would do - support the nominee, and I believe he will work hard on the stump and help get Hillary elected too. He understands what's at stake. He gets it.

We can quibble about timing - on the one hand, carrying on after Hillary was the presumptive might have made things harder for his younger supporters because they continued to hold out hope and we are seeing the rather explosive deflation of that hope on cable news, but on the other hand, he got a lot of his platform into the Dem platform and Hillary is now running on those policies. I think he did it so that his supporters would have something more to vote for, but then the timing thing made it harder for them to accept that it was over. I don't think he could have really won either way with some people here.

As for me, while I might have been impatient with Bernie during that last month or so, I think it's worked out probably the best it could have, and his behaviour has been exemplary throughout. I have a lot of respect for him, especially after last night. That couldn't have been easy. I look forward to seeing him on the campaign trail for Hillary.

You know I'm on your side and I always like your posts, but I have to disagree with you here. We are adults. It takes nothing away from us to be the bigger people. Michelle's words: when they go low, we go high. We won! We're going to elect Hillary to be the first woman president of the United States!

My first natural reaction is NOT to be nice to people who were complete assholes to me in the primary, believe me. But my second, thought-through RESPONSE is that my main goal is to elect Hillary. I want their votes. If I leave them alone for a while and talk to them nicely when they talk to me, it takes NOTHING away from me. Nothing. And it might just help.

I don't know, just my opinion.

I don't understand why people who support Clinton would attack one of her most important supporters now.
