2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDo you guys think Russia regrets hacking the DNC?
Bernie Sanders strongly backed Hillary anyways and now the press is closely examining Trump's ties to Putin and Russia. It's the top story right now. The content of the emails is no longer the top story. The Russian connection is the top story.
Also, Hillary is still the overwhelming favorite to win the election according to the odds makers. Trump would have to win almost every swing state to barely win.
In the likely event that Hillary does become President, she will take a hard line against Russia and Putin for trying the meddle in the election.
I don't think Putin/Russia thought this thing through.

So maybe yes, there are now some regrets. In addition to lacking any political correctness, Trump has an ego that precludes any dialogue filter and he blabs anything his thinks sound like a good Presidential soundbite, where he can claim international dialogue and working relationships.

(2,792 posts)Trump talks too much. He said he didn't meet Putin, and then he talked about Putin's views of Obama. How would he know this without chatting with Putin over a friendly vodka?
Putin must be having buyer's regret. He should have bought Trump at Costco and returned him.

(5,049 posts)Putin is as big a sociopathic narcissist as Trump is. He is incapable of seeing himself making a mistake. If by Russia you mean the people, they are probably too busy regretting Putin's recent intrusions that have resulted in a chokehold on their economy, thanks if international sanctions.
We need to keep ringing this bell - if we do we kill two birds with one stone. Trump and his BFF Putin.
