2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCould HRC please make THIS line a standard thing in her stump speech:
"If the TPP is approved in the lame-duck session, my first act as president will be to renounce it"?
The hint of ambiguity on this (reinforced by Terry McAuliffe's indefensible remarks earlier this week) is the ONLY reason Trump is still even in contention. If we take that away from him, a Dem landslide becomes a certainty.

TPP is just about the last thing on the average voter's mind. The ludicrous overemphasis on it on DU is simply remarkable.

They should be with us, but they believe that TPP will do unto them as NAFTA and the FTA before did to their parent's jobs.
Trump gets their support, at this point, because they think he'll kill TPP and they don't trust HRC to do that.
And I didn't say it was McAuliffe's remarks alone. It was the rejection of a specific anti-TPP plank in the platform.
HRC did say she'd be against harmful trade deals in her acceptance speech, but refused to specify that that meant TPP.
She created the impression that there's wiggle-room, and had no good reason to do so.
I want the Clinton-Kaine ticket to win, and that's why I'm saying this.
