Khan interview: Watch and then give

If you missed it, here are Mr. and Mrs. Khan speaking on MSNBC:

Our primary fights seem so petty next to their grief and their bearing, don't they? And it is hard to not be inspired by the strength of their marriage. Hemingway said "the dignity of movement of an ice-berg is due to only one-eighth of it being above water" -- there is a depth, not seen, only glimpsed, in these two.

They make clear that election -- so much more than even 2000 and 2004 -- isn't about the pendulum swing between liberalism and conservatism. It is about whether we as going to try, however clumsily, to be a decent people. Or whether we give into the void.

Watch and think and then give. If life has been good to you, donate a thousand; if times are tighter, then ten; if you can only donate your time, then do that. Life isn't lived on messages boards: you have to help.
