So, we all work our asses off, HRC wins *AND* We take back the Senate

Can the GOP Congress then hurry up and confirm Merrick Garland?

Can the Dems in this congress stop them from that? Can HRC nominate her pick if this Congress does not confirm Judge Garland?

Is POTUS to SCOTUS possible?

Why? He's old, they think he won't last too long (may he live to be a thousand and grow more liberal every day) and they believe that HRC will nominate someone "worse."

They can confirm him instantly.

POTUS to SCOTUS has been done (see Taft) but Barack probably wants to make some money first. He will write a book, it will be worth millions, Michelle will do likewise, and he'll probably do some speaking, as will she.

Once they get that out of their systems, they can think about more public service.

the House is not involved in the process. They could do it quickly, once they're sworn in, in January I suppose.

THIS Senate may or may not decide to confirm him, so we may have to wait until next year.

GOP heads would explode though. Who's gonna clean up that mess? YUCK.

Our country is lucky to have such an "elder statesman." I look forward to seeing what he chooses to do in the future. SCOTUS certainly sounds good. I guess if I was him though I'd choose surfing in Hawaii.

Honestly, I want an African American woman on the court. One more woman still means the court has more men.
